Hmm we'll soon reach 60k users... yay ;)

Interestingly enough, each "shard" of World of Warcraft is allegedly designed to deal with about 25 thousand users each. Their incredible concurrency (a million users) comes from the fact that they're able to shard their world. Second Life, strangely enough, is one of the largest "single world" (ie. unsharded) environments that supports such a high concurrency. But even things like Facebook have claimed to reach "a peak of 100,000 logged in users"... and, of course, Facebook is just basically a web server. So in spite of everything, 60k simultaneous users is not that bad as most people would like to make us believe...

I don't understand why the "asset server" issue shows resolved. It is simply not. It only just not all the time at the moment.
